The second trip of the summer ventured out to the Porcupine Mt. State Park along Lake Superior doing about a 20 mile hike during the 4 day outing. The highlights of this trip were: setting up one night of camp in a non-organized camp site,doing a great group initiative putting up two bear ropes using the nalgene bottle throw over the limbs of trees, swimming for at least two hours in Superior due to the unusally warm weather, hiking in very hot weather, and laughing a lot. The members of the group gelled well and enjoyed their time in the wilderness. Participants were Donna Ahlberg, Lorena Evans from Iron River, Stacy Harrison from Norway, Deb Snow, Linda Johnson, and Deborah Allen from Chicago, Pauline Walker from Uganda, and Lynn Fish and Jane Frasier from the Point. Enjoy the wonderful trip we had by viewing the photos. |

Lovely hikers in the Venture Out Women's Backpack Intermediate Trip |
The backpacks weighed from 25 to 40 lbs, but these ladies look like they weigh very little. |

Walking on rugged trails by Superior provided great moments. |
An international hiker came with us, Pauline (holding the sign) is British and lives in Uganda, works in the Sudan. |
||||
Deborah and Stacy rest a bit and take a last look at our lake. |
Only one night provided a spectacular sunset, but it was quite glorious. We all found a rock to admire God's world. |
