Iron Mountain 5th grade Central & North, May 4
 
It was a great day--weather was perfect, all students were excited about their experience at the Point. Shannon Hanson and Andy Medini, the two teachers, were thrilled with the learning, and the many adult volunteers added a lot to the day. We appreciated Sara Malecki, Anders Johnson, Kyle Fish, & Jack Hudson helping Kyle Mecher, Bill Fish and Sam Barron in the flow of the day. Four groups spent their time orienteering, solving group challeenges on the low elements, and exploring the high ropes. Pictures high light the fun and learning which took place.
 
We think we are going in the right direction.
It would be nice to have everyone's picture on the high ropes but these three represent the fine job done by all the students.
This groups shows off their success in getting everyone on a small square of wood.
It was a moment to stop all action on this low element and take a camera break.
 
It takes a bit to harness up but safety is the key to the high ropes experience. Each climber is able to self-belay and move on the ropes at his/her own pace.
Kyle gives last minute instructions before this group begins to climb. The high ropes time builds confidence for many kids.
 
It takes a lot of focus to keep the "red in the shed" as one moves in the right direction. The final picture of happy students and teachers.
