Rockin' Robins April 27, May 11 & 18

What a unique program for kindergarten and first grade students who are paired with big buddies volunteering their time because they love children and nature. Each week the children would get picked up at school, come to the nature building at Covenant Point and begin various activities and projects. April 27th each child learned about the life cycle of a robin, used binoculars to look for signs of spring, played a game about robins, planted seeds with their big buddies and enjoyed a story. May 11th the big and little buddies went on a "hunt" to find a list of natural items in the woods, learned about the life cycle of a toad, played a game, and buried toad houses in the woods. Stay tune for more adventures after this week. Please note that one group found a duck and her nest well hidden in a standing dead trunk. Photo below
