| With help from the WIC Education Foundation funds, the three classes of 78 3rd graders were able to experience a day program of nature education at AOTE. The students had four discovery groups dealing with the concepts of Ecosystem, Competition, Energy Flow in organisms, and aging of a tree and how disruptions can be seen in tree rings. There were also three big group games to emphasize the learning from the day. Each group not only learned about the concepts but also did an activity in the woods to enhance the learning. Teachers were Samantha Barron, Kyle & Colby Mecher, & Kyle Fish. Below are pictures from the Monday, May 14th. | |||||
