Venture Out Women's Backpacking Trip 2007
Here we are, ready to begin our hike with packs filled and smiles still intact. The trip went very well as you can see by the photos below. We hiked 20 miles of the Pictured Rock National Shoreline, a beautiful hiking trail along Lake Superior with scenic views of rock cliffs, a multitude of colors in the water, and sunsets extraordinaire. We enjoyed some great laughs while hiking, setting up camp, and sitting each night on the beach talking about many things. We thank each of you for venturing out with us these four days in July.
 
We could not get enough of the various blues and greens of the lake   Contemplation with sunsets go together.
     
 
There were a few bits on the trail that needed to be gracefully conquered. Seeing the rock formations along the trail also added to the aura.
So starting the stoves was a little exciting at times. We all decided pouring two cups of hot water into a bag and eating dinner was just great. Staying clean while camping is always a good challenge that we did with various degrees of success.
 
With the calm waters beside us, we halt for a photo moment - one of many. Seeing a sunset and talking together makes the day of hiking and packing well worth it.
